Update policy for my extensions
As you know, the Mozilla Foundation decided a few months ago to adopt a new strategy update for Firefox and Thunderbird, which is based on the release of new "major version" every six to eight weeks.
This makes virtually impossible for me to follow along and test all my extensions with so many different versions of programs that are released with such frequency.
In order to reconcile my personal needs and the requests of all the people who use my extensions, I decided to adopt a new strategy: release new versions since August 28, 2011 with the "formal" compatibility set to Thunderbird / Firefox 9.
This means that no extensions will be disabled by the next updates of Thunderbird / Firefox, but I can not guarantee that they will work properly in all their aspects. It 'important to clarify that there' is no risk of data loss.
I invite everyone to report bugs, that I'll try to fix as soon as possible.
Basically, with regard to my extensions, I've decided to adopt the same policy that the Mozilla Foundation itself is considering for the future: making as default extensions compatible with newer versions of Thunderbird / Firefox (see this page).
It is not a decision that I consider ideal, but it is a necessary compromise to continue to make available my extensions and have time to improve them.
